On Thursday 29th June, the ICECube observatory in Antarctica announced they have mapped the disk of our Milky Way galaxy in neutrinos, those ghostly, hardly-there-at-all particles emitted by stars, supernovae and other objects. What's this discovery all about, and why is it important?
